Brittany Gets a New Companion

Brittany's first companion, Sister Costa completed her mission and returned home to ?  She and Brittany got along very well and were a powerhouse team.  We'll post information on her new companion when we get it.  We (Mom, Dad, Alyssa, and Weston) took a quick unscheduled trip to San Marcos to help Curtis' family after he was in a motorcycle accident.  While we were there we dropped off a care package at Brittany's new apartment (being very careful not to get caught!).  She and her companion dropped a thank you note on our car the next morning, not realizing that Alyssa and Weston were in the back seat as we were preparing to go back home.  Here's an excerpt from her latest email:

Hi Daddy,
I cannot believe you came to my apartment!!!  You're so bad!!!  I was seriously in shock for the rest of the night!  But I really appreciate it.  I'm really sad I missed your mad dash back to the car.  You really can't buy that kind of entertainment :)
That is hilarious that the kids were in the car when Sis. Costa stuck the note on it!  We had no idea.  As we rounded the block the coast looked clear but as we got closer we realized the front door was open.  So I told her to hide behind Curtis's big fatty truck and run for it.  And run for it, she did :)  Haha, she was in panic mode because she heard voices coming from the open door so she didn't even notice anyone inside the car :)  We got a big laugh out of how scared she was.
The whole "you can only write letters on p-day" thing is seriously the most annoying rule we have.  There's just no way to get everything done between 10 am and 6 pm one day a week!  Grrr!
Sad investigator news: Fernando keeps pushing back his baptism date.  He's being such a stubborn teenage boy!  I swear we need to just hogtie him and throw him in the font!  Also, the Owens family has pushed back their baptism date until May.  It's been a pretty sad week for us.
Wish me luck with my new companion tonight!  I pick her up around 5 and I'm really nervous.  President called me yesterday to let me know that this sister is strong willed and that I should really work hard to get along with her because he knows I'm strong willed as well.  He said that a lot of people questioned his decision, but he "has confidence" that we'll be a good match if we work hard.  Yikes!!!  I freaking out a little!  Okay, a lot!
Love you sooooo much!

Excerpt from Brittany's latest email

Is my mission fabulous??? It's so gorgeous!  We have had some pretty cold weather the past couple weeks and it even snowed about 10 minutes outside my area the other day!  It was insane to see cars driving around with snow on them in Southern California! But I brought my coat with me from Utah, so I've been staying warm.
We had zone conference yesterday and that was pretty awesome. President Cook is a very excellent mission president.
We finally moved into our new apartment, but I don't know what the address is yet so I'll let you know next week. In the meantime, if you need to send me anything just send it to the mission office. It's actually really nice.  It's a two bedroom next to the freeway and they remodeled it right before we moved in.  We don't have any furniture (except beds) or anything, but we have a roof over our heads and some really comfy carpet :)
Well, I hope you have a great week!  Tell everyone hi and how much I love and miss them!  I'll get to call home in a couple months and I'm super excited!  Actually I heard also that they let you Skype now if we have a member in the ward that has access to that.  Most people do so if you want to talk to me and be able to see my face then we can Skype.

Love,

Brittany
