Saturday we helped a kid in our ward with his Eagle Project. We painted baseball dugouts in this massive field for community sports. It was actually really fun. We painted for four hours and only got three dugouts finished. It was a LOT of work.
We officially picked up a girl that we've been visiting as an investigator. She had a friend invite her to seminary several months ago, and she's been attending faithfully ever since! She has attended church twice now and we're hoping to invite her to be baptized next week.
A sister in the ward's friend came to church with us on Sunday as well. She loved it! The Relief Society lesson was on Joseph Smith and after church she couldn't stop talking about how it makes total sense that God would have direct revelation through a prophet today just like in Bible days. Bingo! She's totally golden! She lives outside of the ward though, so we'll end up handing her over to different missionaries so they can get her baptized.
President's Day was pretty good for us. We arranged to hang out with a bunch of different families in the ward. It was fun, but doesn't quite compare with being home. Love you all!!

Wow, I'm really not sure where this last week went. I really don't know what the highlights of the past few days are. Everything is sort of a blur. Let's see, we picked up a new investigator on Sunday. He's a 15-year old boy that reminds me a lot of an investigator that I had in my first area. He is super intelligent and has already read the complete standard works. Yep, everything from the Old Testament to the Pearl of Great Price. He has made it very clear that he wants to be baptized so we're hoping to set a date with him later this week.
One of our investigators that we have been working with a lot is going back to Illinois on Wednesday, and we're so sad about it. We've already contacted the bishop of the ward out there where she is moving to, so the transition to the new missionaries should be smooth. She wanted all my contact info so we could stay in touch and she could let us know how things go for her with the new missionaries.

Yesterday we had some really exciting things happen. Well, it's actually not that exciting, but it is for us because we're missionaries :-). Just embrace it! We got THREE referrals yesterday! (And we taught one of them today, but I'll get to that later.) We also taught a lesson to this super cute girl who is the daughter-in-law of a really inactive guy in the ward. His wife is pretty grumpy about the church so neither one of their sons have been baptized. Anyway, the son, whose girlfriend we taught, has brain cancer, so he and his girlfriend and their baby live with the grumpy parents. We have to go during the day when they aren't around. We invited the girlfriend to church and she said she'd totally be open to it and would talk to her boyfriend about it. For dinner last night we went to a HUGE mansion. We asked for a tour after dinner and it took us thirty minutes at least to get through the whole house! It even had an elevator!

We were able to teach the first lesson to one of the referrals we got. The sad thing is that we found out that she's only visiting from Illinois, and will be returning home at the beginning of February. She was super interested though, and was really excited to read the Book of Mormon. Seriously, our lesson with her was amazing! She's golden. We will be handing a baptism to the missionaries in Illinois.

Today was a beautiful day! I am definitely going to miss the California sunshine when I come home to Utah. We spent some time street contacting because everyone was out enjoying the perfect weather. Contacting in Orange County is always and adventure. About the only people we can get to listen to us are the Hispanics, and they only understand a quarter of what we are saying. We went to the park this afternoon for a "New Member Picnic." It was a little get together for all the new move-ins and people who've been recently baptized. The whole time we were there we got terrorized by all the tweens begging us to play tag with them. We finally caved and I'm sure we looked ridiculous running around in skirts and playing tag with a bunch of 10-year olds. Oh boy, what is my life coming to? :-) The only other exciting thing that we did today was doing service for a young mom in the ward who's husband has cancer. We helped her clean house and play with her two cute little girls. It was super fun AND I got to wear my jeans! Hooray for pants! Oh, and one of our investigators confirmed with us that she'll be at church tomorrow! Double Yay!!

Today was pretty uneventful. Well, we did have one great thing happen. Our investigator came to church! And she loved it! And she wants us to teach her again this week! Win! We also got a call form the Elders in a neighboring ward saying that one of our former investigators came to their ward today. We're going to stop in on him tomorrow to see what's up. He was dropped clear back in 2010, and previous sisters checked up on him in August, and he still wasn't interested. We'll see what happens.

So yesterday we taught our investigator again (the one that came to church on Sunday), and invited her to be baptized. She pulled the whole "Well, I've already been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost." It's always hard to tell people that their baptism was nothing more than getting wet. She actually took it really well when we explained the whole authority thing. Some people really don't. Anyway, she said that she was going to pray about it and continue to read the Book of Mormon. Basically we'll just be handing over a baptism to the missionaries in Illinois.
Sis. Rokobuli and I had some fun yesterday. After shopping we went to Chili's and I was finally able to use my gift card. I've been hanging on to that thing for a year! We had a really fun time, and I about died and went to heaven eating me some bottomless chips and salsa! Yummm!!! My companion was telling me all about the Polynesian Cultural Center, and I really want to go see the new show now. She was a dancer in the show before she came on the mission.
